Methodology & privacy

Useful signals, calculated in the open.

GetAGitDev indexes information developers publish on GitHub and makes technical evidence easier to search. It is a discovery aid—not a ranking of human worth and not a substitute for a fair interview.

What is indexed

Public profile fields, public repository details, language usage, topics, and a summary of recent contribution activity. Data is refreshed periodically and is never exposed as a raw download.

How skills are inferred

Repository languages carry the most weight, followed by repository topics, then descriptions and profile text. Every stored skill has supporting evidence and a score, so nothing is a guess without a reason behind it.

Availability is an estimate

Labels use explicit public phrases, GitHub’s hireable flag, public contact paths, and recent repository activity. Negative phrases such as “not looking” override overlapping positive phrases. Always verify directly and contact people respectfully.

Removal

Profiles can be fully removed from search and the index on request. To request removal, email privacy@getagitdev.com.
